City hires new firm for retail development

West Monroe officials have stepped up efforts to land an anchor store for a retail center near Ike Hamilton Expo Center.

The city's Board of Aldermen recently approved a four-month cooperative endeavor agreement with Pointe West Partners for development of West Monroe's commercial park subdivision.

West Monroe Mayor Dave Norris believes the group could help secure an anchor store for a retail and lifestyle center near the Ike, which is located off Interstate 20.
Charles Frye, of West Monroe, is associated with Pointe West Partners. He will be involved in the four-month effort.
