Attorney pleads guilty to felony theft

Bernard Grenrood Jr., a former Ouachita Parish attorney, pled guilty Monday to six counts of felony theft in excess of $500.

Grenrood was charged by grand jury indictment in June 1997 with six counts of felony theft relating to the theft of funds belonging to clients he represented.

Fourth Judicial Assistant District Attorney Neal Johnson said Grenrood was scheduled for a jury trial Monday before Judge Wilson Rambo, but Grenrood changed his plea to guilty.
