Fundraiser set for 3/12 Southern Sound and Friends present "Back to the Fifties" show and dinner at 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 12, in Tennison Hall at First Baptist Church, West Monroe.
This function is a fundraiser for the Ministry of Inspirational Therapy which is a local nursing home charity. Information can be found at www.ministryofinspirationaltherapy.org.
The evening will include a steak dinner and entertainment. Southern Sound will be providing entertainment continuously throughout the event along with friends: Shane Debnam, Greg Smith, Jodie Moorehead, Bill Hutchinson, Terri Weeks, Marsha Linam, Kathy Morris, Constance Wade, Marsha Harris, Lynn Hutchinson, Gloria Jones, Angela Jones and Betty Ann Hudson.
Pictures of the Twin Cities area in the 1950's, singers and memorabilia of the 50s will accompany the music.
There will be costumed impersonations of some of the great 50s stars. A variety of 50s hits and medleys will be performed with such favorites as Love is a Many Splendored Thing, Dianna, Unchained Melody, Down Yonder, Make Believe, Blue Suede Shoes, The Great Pretender, Blue-berry Hill, At the Hop,, Young Love, Don't Be Cruel, The Twist, Blue Moon, and How Great Thou Art.
Dress is casual. Ticket prices are $30 each and may be purchased at Pearson Jewelers on Bell Lane in West Monroe or Zeagler's Music on 18th in Monroe.
A table of 8 may be reserved. A portion of all tickets is tax deductible.
Tickets must be purchased before March 5.
