There were actually three things in play Friday night at Ouachita's "Madhouse on Milhaven" when West Monroe challenged the Ouachita Lions for the boys basketball district 2-5A championship: Rebels, Lions and electricity.

In the 23 years that I have been on this earth and going to sporting events, never have I experienced an atmosphere for local basketball like Friday night at Ouachita Parish High School.

In this football crazed area, basketball has always taken a back seat to the gridiron and the baseball field in a lot of respects.
