City pitches report to retailers
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
The city of Monroe recently mailed a marketing report prepared by Buxton Inc. to 10 national retailers in hopes of luring more businesses to the city.

In January 2008, the Monroe City Council agreed to pay Buxton $70,000 to conduct a retail marketing study for the city. Buxton is a national marketing firm that maintains a database of 4,500 major retailers and restaurants and 350 community clients.

The cooperative endeavor agreement the city and Buxton entered into called for Buxton to provide professional services related to community development plans to help analyze the city's local retail market and help promote retail investment in these major corridors.
