Girls basketball playoff season begins The Louisiana High School Athletic Association girls basketball playoffs begin today, Feb. 18, with a host of local teams vying for state championships.
CCS fifth in Class C In Class C, Claiborne Christian school is seeded fifth and has a first-round bye. The winner of No.12 Calvin hosting No. 21 Grace Christian will travel to West Monroe on Monday to face the Lady Crusaders.
Claiborne Christian (26-8) has won six of the final seven regular season games. A last minute change to the schedule saw their final game against St. Frederick canceled on Friday because of area snowfall. CCS swept a pair of games in district over both Kilbourne and Epps High School. CCS is averaging around 54 points per game this season. If the second-round match-up turns out to be Calvin, the Lady Crusaders already have a leg up on the Lady Falcons after downing them in a classic Jan. 15 game, 67-66.
