Caldwell Spartans send Sterlington to third straight loss The Sterlington Panthers (21-11) wrapped up their regular season last week and will now need some help to make the field of 32 teams that qualify for the LHSAA Class 2A basketball playoffs that begin next Tuesday.
Sterlington is on a three-game losing streak after falling to Caldwell Parish High School last week, 69-58. Losses to Farmerville (45-32) and Lake Providence (50-48) last week put the Panthers at the No. 36-seed in the latest LHSAA Class 2A ranking.
With some help from other teams, it is still possible for the Panthers to make the playoffs. If they made the playoffs, the likely first-round match-up would find Sterlington visiting either No.1 Many or No. 2 Riverside Academy who have lost just 12 games combined. For the full report, see Page 5B of this week's Citizen.
