Freedmen Ministries already works with ex-prisoners
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
While a coalition of community leaders works to develop a comprehensive plan to reduce the recidivism rate at the Ouachita Correctional Center, one group already is working with ex-prisoners individually.

The group is called Freedmen Ministries, a Christian organization that assists people released from prison by providing them with resources and support to help them re-enter society successfully.

Johnny Pace is one of the local men who assists former prisoners. He also is involved with the Out 4 Life Coalition, a non-profit organization that is working on a comprehensive plan to reduce the overall recidivism rate at OCC through programs supported by federal grants.
