Story Archives: Winter weather blankets Ouachita Parish

Winter weather blankets Ouachita Parish
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Several inches of snow blanketed Ouachita Parish and northern Louisiana Thursday and Friday. Schools and many businesses were closed, so children and adults of all ages took advantage of the time off to have some wintery fun.

Shown in the top photo at right are neighbors, Colin Foy, left, and Precious Jack, both of Monroe, throwing snowballs at each other. Below left, Yvette Rogers, 2, gets ready to pelt her mom with snow as big sister, Eliana, runs in the background. In the bottom right photo, brothers Caleb and Gregory Jackson made a Louisiana-style snowman using Spanish moss for the hair.
