WM voters have choice in 3/27 election
by Scott Rogers - posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Six people, including five incumbents, will seek seats on the West Monroe Board of Aldermen in the March 27 municipal election.

This year's municipal election marks the first time since 1994 that members of the board of aldermen were opposed. Since West Monroe aldermen are elected at-large, the top five vote getters are elected.

The challenger to the five incumbents, Kelly Lewis, is a Republican. He qualified late last week along with the incumbents. They are James "Sonny" Bennett, Democrat; James "Polk" Brian, Democrat; Alice Pearson, Republican; Fred Ragland Jr., no party; and L.O. "Sam" Yeager, Democrat.
