Grant money to improve exhaust sytems

The Monroe Fire Department will receive a $175,000 federal grant to make improvements at various city fire stations.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) awarded the grant to the city of Monroe.

The funds will be used to equip Monroe fire stations with source capture exhaust systems which will help clear diesel fumes from the stations.
