Local banker Malcolm Maddox and Jim Bershen, CEO of Scott Companies were both honored with the Monroe Chamber of Commerce's top awards last week.

Maddox received the Rambin-Silverstein Memorial Civic Award while Bershen received the 2009 Kitty Degree Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award in Business.

The awards were given to the two recipients Thursday, Feb. 4 at the Monroe Chamber of Commerce's 89th annual meeting and banquet.
