OPSB approves student reward program
by Scott Rogers - posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
The Ouachita Parish School Board agreed to give each parish school up to $800 this year for a program that rewards students for good behavior.

In 2007, Superintendent Dr. Bob Webber requested that each parish school implement a Positive Behavior Support program. The program is now mandated by the state Department of Education.

The behavior program sets guidelines on how students should behave, and rewards students who meet specific goals. Until now, each school has been providing rewards, such as a pizza party for students, at its own expense.
