Story Archives: Journey celebrates Boy Scouts' 100th anniversary

Journey celebrates Boy Scouts' 100th anniversary
by Scott Rogers - posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Fifty years ago Frank Mallon joined hundreds of Boy Scouts for the National Jamboree, and even then he had visions of what he'd do for the Boy Scouts' 100th anniversary.

About 15 years ago, Mallon, a Michigan native, began thinking hard about the 100th anniversary, which will be celebrated across the United States on Feb. 8.

Last year on Feb. 8, Mallon and a group of Boy Scout volunteers from Michigan began a year-long campaign across America called "A Century of Values Nationwide Road Tour."
Photos from this event are featured on Page 1A of this week's Citizen. For the full write-up, see Page 7A.
