T. Jack Blackmon
T. Jack Blackmon passed away on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, at the age of 80. He born Aug. 21,1929.
Jack spent most of his life in the West Monroe area. He lived in the Lufkin, Texas, area for about 10 years before spending the last 15 years in Pearland, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jimmie Goza Blackmon. Survivors include his two children, Beba Cates of Pearland, Texas, and T. Jack Blackmon III and wife, Tricia, of Lewisville, Texas; and two grandchildren, Brandi Cates and Brandon Cates of Pearland, Texas. He will also be greatly missed by his two constant companions, his dogs, Bruiser and Tiger.
Jack's career was in sales. He was a veteran of the Korean War.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to friend, Wayne Hammons, and all of his caretakers, Judy Davis, Patti Martinez, Julie Langston and Pam Williams.
In lieu of flowers, Jack's wishes would be a donation to any animal humane organization.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 2535 East Broadway in Pearland, Texas, with Father Jim and David Klak.

Glen "Buddy" Foster, 59, passed away on Jan. 25, 2010, at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe.
His funeral was at noon Thursday, Jan. 28, at Lapine Assembly of God. Arrangements were by Griffin Funeral Home of West Monroe.
Marie Case Gibbs
Funeral services for Marie Case Gibbs, 86, of Monroe, were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Skip Dean officiating. Interment was at Loch Arbor Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Gibbs passed away Friday, Jan. 29.
Thomas G. Godwin
Graveside services for Mr. Thomas G. Godwin, 70, of Perryville, were at 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1, 2010, at Mulhearn Memorial Park in Monroe, with Rev. Allan Eppinette officiating. The family received friends from 5-9 p.m. Saturday at Harmony Baptist Church in Bastrop.
Mr. Godwin, a retired machine operator for Southern National Gas Company, passed away Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, a charter member of Emergency Response Team and was always giving of himself to help others. He loved and enjoyed everyday he spent with his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his son, Jeffery Godwin; dad, Fredrick Godwin; and mother, Ruth Lee Edy.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Barrett Godwin; one daughter, Debbie Kemper and spouse, Dennis Owens, of Fairbanks; one son, Mark W. Godwin and wife, Lori, of West Monroe; eight grandchildren, Brittany Gill, Casey Wallace, Zachary Godwin, Kassie Kemper, Misty Godwin, Heather Godwin, Destini Godwin and Dalton Godwin; and special friend, Sadie.
Pallbearers were Dennis Owens, Devon Owens, Blake Corbin, Jordan Eager and Darren Hall.
