Story Archives: Rebel basketball back in action

Rebel basketball back in action
by Cody Futrell - posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
The West Monroe Rebels (12-7) will be back in action at home Friday with a 7 p.m. game against former district rival Huntington (13-16).

The Huntington Raiders are in a rebuilding mode and have still been able to put together wins in two of their last five games. Huntington was ranked No.1 in the state for much of last year and looked to be well on their way to winning a Class 5A state championship before falling to Hahnville in the semi-final round of the Top 28 tournament in Lafayette.

Last week, the Rebels hosted and defeated the Southwood Cowboys by a score of 66-48. West Monroe senior Cory Lacy, the lone senior on this year's West Monroe team, scored 23 points to lead the Rebels. Tony Foster scored 14 and Dominique Ford added 12 points for the Rebels.
