Thompson speaks at Ag conference
District 34 State Sen. Francis Thompson (D-Delhi) was a featured speaker last week at a national conference of state agriculture leaders.
The State Agriculture and Rural Leaders Association held their 2010 Legislative Ag Chairs Summit in Orlando, Fla.
Thompson addressed the group with a speech discussing the mission and successes of the Louisiana Rural Caucus.
Thompson's speech discussed some of the successes of Louisiana's Rural Caucus like the creation of the Rural Development Fund, strengthening the Louisiana Department of Agriculture, and bringing to the forefront issues on rural poverty, healthcare and education needs. He also focused on the future of agriculture in today's tough economic climate. |
