Both Rebels squads win The West Monroe Lady Rebels (14-14) will play another non-district game against a Shreveport school this Friday when Southwood (25-0) brings their top-ranked Lady Cowboys to Rebel Gymnasium.
The game tips off at 6 p.m. with the boys to follow. The Lady Rebels are coming off a 53-38 win over Richwood on Tuesday. The win was the sixth win in the last nine games for West Monroe. The team had begun the year 2-5. A young team with no returning starters in 2010, West Monroe has gradually grown-up and made some veteran-like plays to get back to .500.
"I was very pleased with our composure," head coach John Greene said after beating Richwood. "We are playing a lot of girls that typically don't play and we hung in there." Richwood used a man-to-man press to force 16 turnovers on the Lady Rebels. It was a number that coaches were not down about following the game.
