On Tuesday, Monroe police also made two arrests in the Monday shooting death of Samuel Jackson, 29, in south Monroe.
Shunterris Thomas, 23, and Thomas Cortez, 24, both turned themselves over to authorities Tuesday. They were charged with first degree murder, aggravated battery and armed robbery. Police already arrested two suspects in the shooting death of Jackson. They were Keithern Tyler, 18, and Desmond Gords, 23. For the full report, see Page 3A of this week's Citizen.
