Authorities make arrests in two murders
Ouachita Parish Sheriffs Office investigators made an arrest Monday in the shooting death of a 55-year-old southern Ouachita Parish man.
It was the first homicide in 2010 investigated by Ouachita Parish Sheriff's authorities.
OPSO Capt. Jason Pleasant said Tuesday sheriff's investigators arrested Daniel Guess, 20, 809 Prairie Rd., on a second-degree murder charge.

On Tuesday, Monroe police also made two arrests in the Monday shooting death of Samuel Jackson, 29, in south Monroe.
Shunterris Thomas, 23, and Thomas Cortez, 24, both turned themselves over to authorities Tuesday. They were charged with first degree murder, aggravated battery and armed robbery.
Police already arrested two suspects in the shooting death of Jackson. They were Keithern Tyler, 18, and Desmond Gords, 23.
