Krewe gears up for Vegas-style event Vegas — Janus Style The theme of the 2010 Krewe of Janus Mardi Gras parade is Vegas-Janus Style and the krewe plans to get the fun rolling on Saturday, Feb. 6. See Page 1A for the schedule.
Grand Marshals The Bretherton family from Vexcon Exterminating, also known as the stars of the hit A&E TV show, "The Exterminators" will serve as grand marshals of the 2010 Krewe of Janus Mardi Gras parade.
Royalty King Janus XXVII — Max Coplen Squire — Scott Coplen Queen Janus XXVII — Rachel Farrar McKenzie Lady-in-Waiting — Monica Hemphill THE ROYAL COURT 2009 Duchesses — Cathy Miller, Pam Pickett, Sherri Rosales and Donna Tolar. Dukes — Leo Miller, Larry Pickett, Tony Adams and Jerry Holdiness. Princesses — Elizabeth Elias, Kelsey Zimmer, Tanner McKenzie and Tiffany Hemphill. Pages — Timothy Holdiness, Gregory Holdiness, Trent McKenzie and Tyler Hemphill.
Education The Krewe of Janus Educates all ages about Mardi Gras and its history. Krewe members visit schools, nursing homes, businesses and organizations in costume to celebrate Mardi Gras with mini parades and presentations. Their goal is to educate individuals about the history of Mardi Gras and promote parade safety. Groups or individuals are welcome to tour the Krewe Den, see the floats and hear a presentation on Mardi Gras. If you are interested in scheduling a visit, call Rachel McKenzie at 614-2333. |
