Analysis: Saints face Cardinals after faltering down stretch

The time has come for the New Orleans Saints (13-3) to either right the ship and sail to the franchise's first ever Super Bowl appearance, or to fold like so many Saints teams before them.

The latter has seemed like the way things are headed after the team lost their last three games. Granted, many of the top offensive weapons, including NFC Pro Bowl quarterback Drew Brees did not play during a 23-10 embarrassment at the hands of the Carolina Panthers two weeks ago.

So in essence, Brees has had two weeks off after the bye week the Saints got last weekend as the top seed in the NFC playoff bracket. Starting tight end Jeremy Shockey has had over a month on the sidelines after a slew of injuries.
