A Mississippi-based company that operates some 19 hotels in three states has plans to build a new one in West Monroe near Ike Hamilton Expo Center.

Nash Patel, vice president of Southern Hospitality Services Inc., was on hand Tuesday at the West Monroe Board of Aldermen's pre-council meeting to unveil plans for a proposed 80-unit Hampton Inn. It would be built on Mane Street near the Ike.
