Washington Mardi Gras on tap next week
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Monroe officials will travel to Washington, D.C. next week for one of their two annual lobbying trips to meet with the state's congressional delegation.

Next week's lobbying trip coincides with Washington Mardi Gras. It is an annual event hosted by the state's congressional delegation and the Mystick Krewe of Louisianians. Washington Mardi Gras entails three days of cocktail parties before a formal ball.

Some of the ongoing projects the Monroe delegation will discuss during this lobbying trip include infrastructure enhancements at the Ouachita Port, sewer and wastewater improvements for the city of Monroe and various projects at the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
For the full report, see Page 2A of this week's Citizen.
