The Northeast Louisiana Genealogical & Historical Society met on Sunday, Jan. 10, in the Louis Locke room of the Ouachita Parish Public Library on Stubbs Avenue in Monroe.

In the absence of president James Free, historian Terry Perritt presided. Margie Brown, secretary, reported on the Dec. 12, 2009, wine tasting and tour of Landry Vineyards in West Monroe. Member Ed Deckard and friends played Christmas music on their recorders.

Lois Ferguson introduced the speaker of the day, Jim Rolfe, founder of Starr Homeplace.
