Don Redden Classic plays this weekend The Don Redden Memorial Tournament will continue at Ouachita High School this weekend, with eight games being played Friday and Saturday.
The tournament concludes with a championship game at 8 p.m. Saturday night. The tournament is named after former Ouachita and LSU star Don Redden, who died of a heart condition in 1988.
His skills and talent earned him many honors, including all-state twice, all-Twin City twice, All-Northeast Louisiana, and Converse All-American during his high school career. He went on to star at LSU, where he finished his Tiger career as the No. 14 scorer in LSU history. For the full report, see Page 1B of this week's Citizen.
