Warhawks take two-game trip to Florida
After playing its last four games in the friendly confines of Fant-Ewing Coliseum, the ULM men's basketball team returns to the road this Thursday (Jan. 7) when it travels to FIU for the first of a two-game road swing through the Sunshine State. Game time against the Golden Panthers is scheduled for 8 p.m. CT.
ULM (6-9, 1-3 Sun Belt) has won three of four, including their last game on Saturday (Jan. 2), a 68-64 victory over UALR. Senior guard Tony Hooper made eight three-pointers against the Trojans, tying him for the second-best single-game performance in ULM history. Hooper's performance was the eighth time in ULM history a player has made eight threes, the school record is nine set on Feb. 17, 1994 by Larry Carr against Texas-Arlington. Hooper finished the game with 28 points.
Hooper leads the Warhawks in scoring, averaging 13.9 points per game. Senior guard Dynile Forbes and junior forward Lawrence Gilbert also average in double-figures for the Warhawks, each is averaging 10.5 per contest.
