PJ likely to offer five-year tax proposition for Green Oaks Green Oaks Detention Center officials will begin reviewing possible millage renewal proposals to present a measure to voters sometime in 2010.
During Monday's regular Ouachita Parish Police Jury meeting, Walt Caldwell, police jury vice president, requested that Green Oaks director Mike Rhodes meet with his board of directors to review millage renewal proposals.
In 2006, voters approved a five-year, 2.91 millage renewal to fund operations and conduct improvements at the Green Oaks facility. Green Oaks is a detention center for juveniles. For the full report, see Page 2A of this week's Citizen.
