Ouachita Parish officials will host a public forum Jan. 14 at Monroe Civic Center where local residents can review updated flood maps.

The event will be held from 2 p.m.-7 p.m. at the Bayou Room at the Civic Center.

According to Ouachita Parish Floodplain manager Lisa Richardson, some parish residents may now have property located in a flood zone and they will be required to buy flood insurance.
