Book details Robinson life, career
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
A new book chronicling the life of legendary Grambling State University football coach Eddie Robinson will be released in book stores in January.

"Eddie Robinson: He was the Martin Luther King of Football" is written by Denny Dressman and published by ComServe Books.

The 384-page work takes readers through Robinson's career and early life during the Jim Crow Era and the Civil Rights Movement. The title is based on a comment by retired Jackson State head coach W.C. Gorden when Robinson died in 2007. Gorden said at that time, "To me, he was the Martin Luther King of football."
