Monroe/West Monroe Business and Professional Women will meet from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Jan. 12, at The Atrium in Monroe.

The featured speaker will be Sarah Calhoun Albritton of Med Temps and Work Temps. She will be discussing the "The Value of Temporary Workers."

The deadline for RSVP's is noon Jan. 11. To RSVP, call Edna Haden at 372-5699 or Peggy Wells at 665-5516. Guests are welcome.

Also, BPW will host the "Wine for Wisdom" fundraiser from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, at Tonore's Wine Cellar, 801 Louisville Ave. Appetizers and 30 different wines will be served.
Tickets will be available at the door for $20 each and a raffle for wine related items will also be held with tickets selling for $1 each or 6 for $5.

Proceeds will go to BPW's University of Louisiana at Monroe scholarship for non–traditional women students, which is managed by ULM Foundation (a 501c3 organization). Application period for the 2010-2011 scholarship (awarded in Fall, 2010) is Jan. 18-Feb. 2. For information, go online to https://webservices.ulm.edu/foundation/scholarship.

BPW continues to collect items for Louisiana women in the military. Needed items include: snack foods; feminine hygiene products; lotions; non-perishable foods/meals; drink mixes; phone cards; baby wipes; magazines; books; microwave popcorn; gum;canned chicken; beef jerky; hard candy; pillowcases; pillows; cotton socks; flipflops to wear to the shower; honey; chapstick; dental and regular hygiene products; playing cards; and shower gel. No home-made items are allowed.
