Stimulus money props up PJ budget

The Ouachita Parish Police Jury signed off on its $90-million 2010 fiscal year budget Monday.

The 2010 consolidated budget consists of $84.7 million, but it includes more than $6 million in one-time monies from federal stimulus dollars and some FEMA and state recovery funding.

Fund balance at the beginning of the 2010 fiscal year would be more than $65 million while the projected fund balance at the end of the 2010 fiscal year would be $59 million.
