'Commit to Life' campaign under way at local blood centers

LifeShare Blood Centers of northeast Louisiana is calling on local residents to help increase its blood supply during this critical time of the year.

Laurie Ditta, donor recruiter for LifeShare Blood Centers, said the holiday season is a difficult time for collecting blood as schools are out and most people are wrapped up in holiday activities.

"Everyone is so busy right now, and our schools are out and people are traveling and not here to donate blood," Ditta said.
