At times, it has been difficult to think about basketball this season for the Ouachita boys squad.

Since May 22, things have seemed surreal at times. On that day, would-be junior De'Varia Sanders was walking home from school along Highway 80 like most days.

As most kids his age, the 16-year-old Sanders was listening to his CD player as he walked along the side of the road.
