Lady Lions play game in Ruston
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
The Ouachita Lady Lions downed the Wossman Lady Wildcats Tuesday night 52-41 behind the strong inside presence of Maria Brown. Brown scored 20 points and hauled in 10 rebounds to pace Ouachita. The Lady Lions will next play in the Ruston Bearcat tournament beginning Thursday and going through Saturday.

Against Wossman, the Lady Lions jumped out to a 14-9 advantage after the first quarter. Ouachita used the inside work of Brown and a tenacious pressure defense to put Wossman back on their heels.

The game was tight in the second quarter as the teams continued to trade baskets. D.D. Hall got a hot hand for Wossman from the start and she finished with 18 points for Wossman.
