OPPJ to adopt $94 million budget

The Ouachita Parish Police Jury is expected to adopt a $94 million budget for the 2010 fiscal year when the police jury meets Monday night.

The police jury will rely on more than $6 million in one-time monies in the new fiscal year, which federal stimulus dollars and some FEMA and state recovery funding.

The 2010 budget is somewhat larger than in previous years due to the one-time monies, according to police juror Charles Jackson. Jackson serves as chairman of the police jury finance committee.
