Story Archives: OPSO rolls out 'Santa Patrol'

OPSO rolls out 'Santa Patrol'

Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office investigators have a message for would-be criminals this holiday season - think twice before committing any illegal activity.

To counter criminal activity during the holidays, Sheriff Royce Toney rolled out the "Santa Patrol" Wednesday and investigators in unmarked cars and plain clothes took to the streets to look for any type of criminal activity in progress.

"During this time of the year, people get a little desperate because it's Christmas, and they need money," Toney said. "Well, the parents are checking their lists to see who is naughty and who is nice, and so are we, but we're not concerned with the nice people … we're looking strictly for the naughty."
