Rebels meet Rummel Raiders

The West Monroe Rebels will be rolling down to New Orleans for another Louisiana High School Athletic Association Class 5A championship game after a commanding 52-6 victory over the Catholic (B.R.) Bears last Friday night.

The frigid temperatures were not nearly as cold as the Catholic offense which could do little against the imposing pressure of the experienced Rebel defensive unit.

"I thought we had a great a game overall," West Monroe head coach Don Shows said. "Defensively we just played great the entire night."

For the full report, see Page 1B of this week's Citizen. Next week, The Citizen will publish a special commemorative section honoring the Neville Tigers and the West Monroe Rebels pm the accomplishment of making it to the SuperDome. Copies will be available Thursday afternoon.
