City of WM posts $900k surplus

The City of West Monroe is in good financial shape, according to the city's annual audit.
West Monroe accounting firm Cameron, Hines and Hart presented the audit at the West Monroe Board of Aldermen meeting Tuesday night.

The audit showed the city finished the 2008-09 fiscal year on a positive note, banking a $900,000 surplus on the year to bring the city's cash reserves to $11.5 million.

West Monroe Mayor Dave Norris said that was an impressive total given the national economic landscape.
