The Ouachita Parish Police Jury will spend roughly $500,000 on a new 100-bed facility at the Ouachita Correctional Center.

OCC Warden Brian Newcomer said OCC currently has 962 beds at the jail, but prison officials are having difficulty accommodating all male prisoners.
