While drainage issues have plagued Monroe over the past several months, Monroe Mayor Jamie Mayo believes the city has found some money to help alleviate the problem.

Ouachita Parish will receive $3.7 million from the Louisiana Recovery Authority for disaster-related projects, and Mayo believes some of the money could help aid Monroe's drainage issues.

The Ouachita Parish Police Jury and city of West Monroe would split the $3.7 million with the city of Monroe.
