The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) will hold a public meeting for an upcoming project designed to improve the connection between Kansas Lane and Garrett Road in eastern Monroe at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15.

The event will be held inside the Monroe City Hall, located at 400 Lea Joyner Expressway in Monroe.

The primary needs to be addressed by the project are the existing and future traffic congestion in the vicinity of Pecanland Mall and mobility limitations for travel over the Kansas City Southern (KCS) Railroad along Millhaven Road (La. 594).
