Neville, West Monroe in semis

The semi-final round of the Louisiana High School Athletic Association football playoffs signals two things for Ouachita Parish each year — cold weather and great football action.
Few parish residents can ever remember a time when the area was without high school playoff football in the month of December. This season, two local teams are still battling for the gold.

The No.2-seed in Class 5A, West Monroe, will host Catholic of Baton Rouge Friday night. The two schools have a history of hard-fought playoff contests in recent memory and players and coaches for both teams expect Friday's game will be no different.

Friday's match-up will be the third playoff game between the teams, and the second this decade.
