Dianne Cage offers recipes, wit: 12/3 It is not too late to get your tickets for Mr. Thomas Friedman brought to you by The University of Louisiana at Monroe and their Presidential Lyceum Series.
Mr. Friedman is one of the most sought-after speakers in the country. You are not going to want to miss this! December 8, 2009. A special thanks to Phyllis Gordon of the Brookshire's on North 18th for the use of the lovely poinsettias for the stage at Brown Auditorium which Mr. Friedman will be speaking from.
Happy birthday to Dr. Mike Zambie, the old boy is 60! What a fun birthday party his wife, Vicki, planned for him. Starting with the Master Sportsman invitation and the cocktail napkins matching. A menu of wild game, fish, quail and the best gumbo prepared by our very own Alpha Spence. My gumbo is good but I think Alpha's is a little better. Vicki and Mike are two of the nicest people I know and both fabulous cooks. Their home is beautiful, warm and inviting. With lots of family and close friends, a grand time was had by all. Guess who is Mike's first cousin? George Tonore as in Tonore's Wine Cellar. No wonder Dr. Zambie is so sweet; he is a Tonore, a very fine old Monroe family.
