"Genealogy Can Be Fun" was the topic chosen by Dr. Tom Kramer of Franklin for the Nov. 12 meeting of the English-Speaking Union, held at Grace Episcopal Church's Kilburne Hall.

Kramer is a retired medical doctor, world traveler, preservationist, historian and author. His talk was based on his published genealogical research, containing many anecdotes of his family and the St. Mary Parish area.

Before the talk, a welcoming reception was planned by hospitality chairman Bobbie Legan. A massive floral arrangement of yellow and white lilies centered the refreshment table, featuring finger foods and punch.
