Officials mull $800,000 turf for WOHS field

The Ouachita Parish School Board will consider spending almost $800,000 for a new turf football field at West Ouachita High School.

School Board member A.R. "Red" Sims brought the matter before the school board last week where some discussion was held on making the purchase. The school board most likely will make a decision on the purchase at an upcoming board meeting.

Several school board members, along with Superintendent Dr. Bob Webber, said the new field was needed at West Ouachita High School.
