Former students to honor WM choir teacher

One morning about three months ago, Ken Fletcher woke up and thought about his former choir teacher, Lloydelle Hopkins.

Fletcher thought about the impact she had on his life. He got on the Internet and tracked her down and immediately called just to simply thank her for helping mold his life.
"I told her how much she meant to me, even 40 years later," Fletcher said. "The way I approach life, the way I approach business, she has a mark there."

Hopkins now lives in Texas, but Fletcher said there are many people in northeast Louisiana who were positively affected during Hopkins' tenure as West Monroe High School's choir teacher. She taught choir at West Monroe during 1966-79.
