The Twin City Ballet Company will kick off its 40th anniversary season Sunday with a "community building" event called Festival of Trees.

The event will begin with an open house for church groups from 2-4 p.m. at the Jack Howard Theatre lobby of the Monroe Civic Center. Open house for the general public will be held from 4-8 p.m.

Mare' Brennan, president-elect of the Twin City Ballet Company's board of directors, said Festival of Trees is a series of events aimed at raising funds for the company's programs. This is the first year the ballet company has conducted Festival of Trees, which is being chaired by Patti Wilhite.
