Holiday fare begins this weekend

The holiday season is always a busy time for families. Yet this year, the days leading up to Christmas promise a number of fun, family-focused diversions.

Along with expanded shopping hours, special dining events at restaurants and extended vacations from school, area arts and entertainment organizations are getting into the spirit with offerings of special programs to cater to every taste, according to CVB spokeswoman Pamela Bryant.

Usually, the holiday season begins the weekend after Thanksgiving and means long shopping hours and big sales. In Monroe, it also means the camels come out.

For the full listing, photographs and more holiday stories, see this week's edition of The Ouachita Citizen.
