Thompson appointed to council Bob Thompson has been appointed to the United States Department of Homeland Security's Critical Infrastructure Partnership Advisory Council and will serve on the Dams / Levee Subsector.
This sector is comprised of dam projects, navigation locks, levees, hurricane barriers, impoundments and other similar facilities throughout the United States. Dams which include levees are identified as vital critical infrastructure to the Nation and provide a wide range of economic, environmental and social benefits, including hydroelectric power, river navigation and commerce, water supply, flood control and recreation.
The Council deals with issues related to the security of dams, levees and locks. The Council membership is limited to fifteen members who are located throughout the United States. They meet on a regular basis in Washington, D.C.
Captain Thompson is a 28-year law enforcement veteran who is a state police special officer and serves as police administrator for the State Division of Levee District Police, Monroe. He is a graduate of the University of Louisiana-Monroe and Western Illinois University. |
