Living Well distributes nearly $1 million
by Scott Rogers - posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Living Well Foundation has provided almost $1 million over two years to area organizations to assist efforts to improve the health of local residents, according to foundation officials.
Living Well Foundation hosted a public meeting last week to update the public on its progress since its inception roughly two years ago.

Formerly the Ward 5 Healthcare Foundation, Living Well was established in 2007 following the sale of Glenwood Regional Medical Center to IASIS Healthcare. The foundation received $44 million from the sale of Glenwood.

That money has been invested and interest income earned on the investment is used to fund various health care initiatives throughout the eight-parish region. The service area of the foundation was determined by the zip codes of the patients served by Glenwood Regional Medical Center.
